What The Hands Remember at MAD Arts

What The Hands Remember opened at MAD Arts on July 16, 2026, bringing together artists, families, community members, and supporters for an evening of film, art, memory, and connection.

Presented as part of the ongoing Beyond the Brush project, the immersive multimedia exhibition featured six short documentaries alongside installations by Yochi Y. Avin, Karla Kantorovich, Marina Font, Magda Love, Aurora Molina, and Lisu Vega.

Throughout its two-week presentation, visitors experienced stories of family, migration, identity, loss, ritual, and transformation through projected imagery, sound, fiber, fabric, rope, photography, and the intimate gestures of making.

These highlights capture moments from opening night and the exhibition’s run at MAD Arts—from the artists and their work to the conversations, encounters, and shared experiences that brought the project to life.
