She creates award-winning documentaries and art that bridge artists’ stories with audiences, fostering dialogue and connection.

The Project
Beyond the Brush: What the Hands Remember is a cross-disciplinary documentary and exhibition project that transforms how artists’ stories are shared and experienced. By going beyond the canvas, it unveils the people behind the art—their backgrounds, techniques, inspirations, and creative journeys—inviting audiences into intimate, immersive encounters that deepen understanding and connection.
Practical filmmaking workshops created for artists. Visual Storytelling for Artists is an evolving workshop series designed to help artists confidently document their creative process, speak about their work, and create meaningful videos using accessible filmmaking tools. Led by documentary filmmaker, photojournalist, and educator Taimy Alvarez, the workshops combine visual storytelling, filmmaking fundamentals, hands-on exercises, equipment guidance, and approachable editing techniques.
